Begun-Bhaja Receipe
Description
Begun-Bhaja is a vegetarian Bengali dish. Begun is Bengali name for brinjal and "bhaja" translated to "fried". It is very easy to cook and usually served as side dish.
Ingredients
- brinjal
- wheat flour (atta)
- turmeric powder
- red chilli powder
- mustard oil
- salt
Steps
- slice the brinjal into discs, each about 1cm-thick
- put all the spices and atta into a bown and mix them
- mix the brinjal slices into the bowl; make sure that spices coat the slices evenly
- cover the bowl and let the slices marinate for about 10-15 minutes
- Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry each side of the slices till they are golden
