Description

Begun-Bhaja is a vegetarian Bengali dish. Begun is Bengali name for brinjal and "bhaja" translated to "fried". It is very easy to cook and usually served as side dish.

  1. slice the brinjal into discs, each about 1cm-thick
  2. put all the spices and atta into a bown and mix them
  3. mix the brinjal slices into the bowl; make sure that spices coat the slices evenly
  4. cover the bowl and let the slices marinate for about 10-15 minutes
  5. Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry each side of the slices till they are golden
